Loretta Lynn’s Family Is “Grateful” For “Love” As They Grieve The D3ath Of Singer’s First Grandchild

 

Loretta Lynn’s first grandchild, Lynn Massey, di3d after “a long and difficult health battle.”

On August 23rd, the late singer’s family posted the heartbreaking news on social media.

“Betty Sue’s daughter Lynn Massey, Loretta’s first grandchild, pa:ss:ed away this week after a long and difficult health battle. Our family is so grateful for the prayers and love continually shown to us,” they wrote on Loretta’s official Instagram page.

The family has not disclosed Lynn’s diagnosis or cause of d3ath.

According to People, the renowned country music diva welcomed her first grandchild at the age of 34. Lynn was Loretta’s first child, Betty Sue’s daughter. Betty named her daughter after her mother.

Betty Sue di3d in 2013 at the age of 64 due to complications from emphysema. Before her death, she had established her own musical career as a songwriter. Betty composed several of Loretta Lynn’s most memorable songs, including The Home You’re Tearin’ Down and Wine, Women, and Song.

On Instagram, friends and followers remembered Lynn Massey as sweet and generous.

“Betty Sue was a Very Sweet Young Lady,” someone wrote in the original posts’ comments. “I Liked talking to her. She could sing. I Loved Lis.”

“Sending so much love….” singer Jewel shared.

“So very sorry for your family’s loss,” a fan added. Praying for comfort for all??.”

Loretta Lynn preceded her granddaughter’s d3ath on October 4, 2022. She was 90 years old.
