Why the Royal Family is Ignoring Prince Harry – Even As He’s Ready to Reconcile

Part 1 of 2

Prince Harry’s recent interview may have resonated with many viewers, but inside Buckingham Palace, it reportedly only made tensions worse. People close to the royal family say the real issue isn’t just about forgiveness — it’s about trust.

Once seen as one of the most respected royals, the Duke of Sussex is now being kept at a distance by senior family members. Insiders say this is due to a serious loss of trust. One palace source said it clearly:

“I genuinely think nobody trusts him and that’s the bottom line. The royal family has major trust issues with him and that’s what’s at the heart of everything. […] Maybe there’s room to forgive, but they won’t forget. Forgiveness and trust are two different things.”

The comment came after Prince Harry claimed that King Charles III refuses to talk to him because of their ongoing disagreement about security. Royal expert Hugo Vickers, who knows the family personally, pointed out that the comparison between Prince Harry and Princess Diana is quite clear — and not in a good way for Harry.

“Charles is, of course, right not to trust him. Harry is hopeless in that respect. He shouldn’t have given that interview — but none of the royal family should ever give interviews, it’s always a car crash,” Vickers added.

Sources say that Harry’s repeated public statements have made many family members feel exposed and betrayed. “Harry did what his mother did, and it’s impossible to come back into the fold after that,” one insider said.

“So, everyone around Charles isn’t keen on him reaching out to Harry. They understand it’s a father-son relationship, but the family is so complicated, and issues of the monarchy often supersede personal relationships,” they added.
