Meghan Markle will ‘make a killing’ off fans with her new online shop

Part 2 of 2

Meanwhile, ShopMy has disclosed how its users generate income through the platform. Their website states that the company takes a “small percentage” under an “82/18 revenue share model.”

If Meghan earns £1,000 in commissions in a month, she’ll take home £820, with the platform keeping £180. With her massive following, it’s likely this venture will bring in a significant income as fans rush to buy the products she promotes.

And it seems to be paying off already. As soon as her online shopping initiative launched, some of the third-party retailers she linked to saw their websites crash due to a surge in traffic. One example is Neiman Marcus, which went down after she featured a pair of Saint Laurent tan-colored mules—a style she has been spotted wearing multiple times. However, these chic sandals come at a steep price of £595.

Meghan’s curated wardrobe features a selection of neutral tones and classic staples, including linen shirts, crewneck sweaters, sunglasses, and handbags. The priciest piece? A Loro Piana Crewneck Sweater in Beige, which carries a hefty price tag of £1,093.

Although the list includes several high-end items, there are also some budget-friendly choices, such as a Uniqlo trench coat priced at just under £100. Another option is a matching lounge set from GAP, which costs £90 in total.

Since the links are commission-based, higher-priced products generate more commission, though the exact percentage varies depending on the brand. “Looking like Meghan and being like Meghan – she’s going to make a killing off people,” Alexander-Grout commented.

Meghan hinted on Monday that there is “more to come” as she plans to expand the list with additional items. However, not everyone is on board with the move. One social media user labeled it “desperate,” while another remarked, “Of course she wanted to monetise everything.”
