Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson’s speech stuns audience

Part 2 of 2

Kelley is far from an ordinary contestant. She graduated as the valedictorian of her nursing class at Grand View University in 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Now a registered nurse, she is well-acquainted with the moments that make life both profoundly beautiful and bittersweet.

Watch the video below

Win or lose, Kelley’s speech served as a powerful reminder that strength manifests in various ways. It’s found in a nurse’s dedication, in gentle words of encouragement, and in the ability to ensure a patient feels acknowledged and valued.

For many, especially those who have experienced the care of a nurse, Kelley has already achieved the most meaningful title one can hold.

THIS is what a true Miss America looks like. And countless others in our hospitals and clinics embody the same spirit, proving themselves winners — even without a pageant!

Kelley did something truly extraordinary that went unnoticed by most. She transformed how people, especially young girls aspiring to be beauty queens, perceive this competition by highlighting one of the noblest and most honorable professions.

I hope young people are tuning in and absorbing the message she delivered. Share this story if it inspired you as much as it inspired us — because Kelley’s bravery deserves recognition far beyond the pageant stage!
