My Ex-Husband Boarded A Luxury Yacht With The Woman He Chose Over Me, But The Moment Our Five-Year-Old Son Ran Into My Arms Calling Out “Mommy,” The Secret His Mother Had Hidden For Years Finally Came To Light

Part 2 of 3

Landon picked it up.

The date on the document matched the week before our divorce had become official.

He looked at me in disbelief.

“You were expecting a child?”

Tears filled my eyes.

“Yes.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

Without saying a word, I handed him a letter I had kept for years.

He unfolded it carefully.

As he read each line, his face became paler.

The letter claimed that he wanted nothing to do with either me or the baby. It instructed me to leave town and never contact him again.

Landon stared at me.

“I never wrote this.”

“I know.”

“Then who did?”

Vanessa lowered her head.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

“I did.”

The room fell silent.

“What?” Landon whispered.

“Your mother asked me to do it.”

The Conspiracy Revealed

Vanessa finally confessed everything.

Years earlier, Landon’s mother, Margaret Pierce, had convinced herself that I wasn’t good enough for her son.

When she discovered that I was pregnant, she tried to persuade me to disappear quietly.

I refused.

Then the lies began.

Photographs were manipulated to create misunderstandings.

Messages disappeared.

Telephone numbers changed.

The forged letter became the final blow.

Vanessa had access to company files, digital records, and personal information.

Together, she and Margaret had carefully built a wall between us.

“I thought I was helping him,” Vanessa sobbed.

“No,” I replied softly. “You were helping yourself.”

At that moment, Mason stepped into the room holding his toy airplane.

“Mommy, why are you crying?”

I knelt beside him.

“Sometimes grown-ups make mistakes, sweetheart.”

Mason looked toward Landon.

“Did you make her sad?”

Landon swallowed hard.

“I didn’t mean to.”

Returning Home

The following morning, we returned to Greenville, South Carolina.

Landon insisted on accompanying Mason and me.

A few hours later, we pulled into the driveway of the Pierce family estate.

Margaret opened the front door.

Her smile vanished instantly.

Then she saw Mason.

The resemblance was impossible to ignore.

“Who is that child?” she asked.

Landon stepped forward.

“Your grandson.”

Margaret’s face turned white.

“Landon, please listen—”

He placed the letter, medical records, and printed messages onto the table.

“No. This time, you listen.”

Margaret tried to defend herself.

She spoke about protecting her son’s future.
