During an engagement in Scotland, Catherine once again proved her charm and quick thinking. Following her much-anticipated return to public engagements, the 43-year-old royal has impressed admirers with her warmth and confidence. One story, shared by Prince William himself, showed just how effortlessly she can turn an awkward moment into something memorable.
William recalled that in 2020, while visiting a local charity, someone in the crowd assumed Catherine was attending in the capacity of his assistant. The idea that the future Queen Consort could be mistaken for staff surprised many — but Catherine took it in stride, sparing the individual any embarrassment and adding a touch of humour.

Speaking at a community event in Scotland, Prince William described the moment, which took place at Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff, Wales, during a round of engagements in August 2020. At the time, the couple were wearing masks due to COVID-19, when William remarked to a resident, Joan Drew-Smith:
